Preparing for Life

slide1slide2slide3

Are you pregnant or have a new baby?

Preparing for Life is now open to families who are expecting or have a new baby who are living in the Curragh and Newbridge areas.

How does it work?

Mentors work alongside parents from pregnancy/newborn to when the child starts school. We visit families in their homes and give information on child development and parenting, with the aim of improving school readiness. When you join one of our mentors will visit you every month with tip sheet information and activities based around child development and parenting. Visits take place in your home or elsewhere in the community. Your mentor will work alongside you from pregnancy to when your child starts school and will help you make the best decisions for you and your baby. Our mentors are friendly and flexible and will be non-judgmental and respectful of your role as a parent. You will be asked to take part in short confidential evaluation surveys. You can choose whether to take part.

Who can join?

Anyone who is pregnant or has a new baby and who lives in the Newbridge and Curragh areas can join our home visiting programme. When you decide to join, you will receive more information at your first visit.
